- מִפְתָּןm. (b. h.) threshold. Ab. Zar.41b; Y. ib. III, 42d top נהגו במ׳ יותרוכ׳ (sub. קדושה) they revered the threshold more than the Dagon; a. e.Pl. מִפְתָּנוֹת. Ib. ישראל עשו כמה מ׳ the Israelites worshipped many thresholds.
